“This is foundational work to bring the entire industry training as quickly as possible,” said Doug Baker, FMI’s vice president of industry relations, in a recent article from Grocery Dive, a leading news and analysis website that covers the food retail industry. Grocery Dive took a “deep dive” into the new partnership between the Food Industry Association (FMI) and The Power of Preparedness (TPOP).
As food retail outlets continue to see violence erupt at their stores and facilities, the industry’s largest trade organization, FMI, took action to provide their members a proven and reliable resource to help employees identify, prevent, and manage workplace violence, including the worst kind, an active shooter event.
The training is available now through the FMI TPOP training portal at thepowerofpreparedness.com/fmi. FMI members receive 15% off their training, whether it be for one store or large industry chains.
